The Animal Response Volunteer Manager is responsible for management of
volunteers in the disaster effort. The position will require the ability to
interview and screen emergent volunteers at the emergency sheltering compound.
The position will also be responsible for establishing tracking procedures to
document all volunteer man hours, contact information, and liability releases.
II. Volunteers: Mental Health Coordinator
Supervisor: AR Branch Director
The AR Mental Health Coordinator is responsible for coordination of services to
monitor and care for the mental and emotional well-being of Animal Response
disaster responders. The MH Coordinator should use current recognized standards
of disaster mental health to establish a healthy work environment for all
disaster responders, and report daily to the Incident Command staff on status,
vulnerabilities, capabilities, and staffing of the mental health oversight for
the disaster response. The MH Coordinator should be a certified mental health
professional with specific training and experience in disaster situations. The
person should also have experience in helping establish a disaster response
culture that supports good mental hygiene practices and procedures. |
